Dogs Bond Board Game

June is a big time for animal advocacy because this is the time when the weather cooperates enough with us to go outdoors and have the adoption faires outside. Hopefully the events are going well and Dogs BOND can continue to be a big part in that.

Whether you think things are going really well, or you think they're going awfully - you're right! Something that I've been learning while here in Africa is that there's always something or someone trying to steal your peace. Even if they're seemingly a world away. Don't let them and continue to move forwards!

Let's take a look at the upcoming global hashtags and trends that I hope will inspire some of our rescue partners in their content creation this month. If you see a day and a global hashtag that you want to use, go ahead! Let us contribute our likes, retweets, and shares to you - just tag us using @dogsbondgame on any of your posts!

MONTH & WEEKS OF JUNE GLOBAL HASHTAGS

June 5-11: #PetAppreciationWeek - This week celebrates that inseparable bond between humans and their loving, canine counterparts. Say thank you to that special person who is a great pet parent and the pet that makes them so!

June 20-24: #TakeYourPetToWorkWeek - If you're like quite a few of us who are still working from home or remote working, sometimes it feels like our pets are the ones who brought us to work. Whether you're at the office that allows you to, or if you're just at home in your jammies working with your pets you can celebrate #TakeYourPettoWorkWeek.

JUNE DAY CELEBRATIONS & GLOBAL HASHTAGS

June 1: #InternationalSheltieDayHappy international sheltie day everyone. Shelties didn't make it into Dogs BOND in the first round, but I did know a few of them that were incredibly chill and smart. Tag someone who is both or someone who has a sheltie.

June 4: #HugYourCatDayIt’s a "purrfect" opportunity for all cat owners to express a little extra love to their furry companions. Go ahead and give your cat a big squeeze, curl up on your couch. Give your kitty an extra cuddle today! But if you have a photo of your dog nuzzling a cat too that'll be great to see too.

June 8: #BestFriendsDayWhether they’re near or far, old or new, friends help to carry us through our lives. Let’s celebrate our beloved best friends today. Do a video chat with your friends, and see if your furry best friends make a visit on the conference too!

June 12: #JerkyDay - Although this day is created to highlight a favorite human snack, this day is also the perfect time to whip up a batch of homemade chicken jerky for your dog, too! Chill with your dog today and share a success story using #JerkyDay.

June 14: #WorldPetMemorialDayToday we remember the furry companions that have passed away, these wonderful creatures provide companionship, emotional support and lots of joy. Share a photo of your pet that passed on and share a memory you had with it.

June 18: #VeterinaryAppreciationDay - Veterinary professionals dedicate countless hours providing compassionate care for our pets, even throughout the most challenging of times. Let all come together to show some appreciation for the hard-working veterinary professionals in your community. Post a pic of your vet officer using #VeterinaryAppreciationDay

June 19: #NationalGarfieldtheCatDayIt’s everyone’s all-time favorite lazy, lasagna loving, contempt bearing cat holiday. Show me a photo of your animal being lazy.

June 20: #TakeYourCatToWorkDayTake your cat to work today! Post pictures of your cat walking on a keyboard, in your bookbag, or otherwise engaged in the working world.

June 20: #UgliestDogDayBeauty is in the eyes the beholder. But I bet you have one or two photos on your phone. Instead of outright deleting them, celebrate your #ugliestdogday today. Every dog is adorable, but it sure is fun to post those unique and ironically ugly dogs that can be tagged as the #UgliestDogDay

June 21: #NationalDogPartyDayParty time, woof woof! It’s a day to celebrate our four-legged friends with fun and games. This promote a playful atmosphere for dogs which allows them to engage and interact with other dogs without limitations. It's not exactly a secret that we love parties as long as they have dogs and or boardgames.

Let’s keep in touch with these social media hashtags, and make sure that our partners have a headstart on their social media planning as possible. Thanks everyone!

After a bit of a hiatus and a refocus of the energy and mental faculties, I think we're getting back into the swing of things. There was a big purchase by a distributor in South Africa and right now I'm working to expand on that partnership to see where it takes us. There are so many animal rescues in SA that I'm hoping that we have a similarly prosperous opportunity to work with them as we have in the USA.
